Known Issues - TPAssist 2007 v1.8.7 installer with Mindjet for Windows (v11.0.272)

There is a known issue with the installer for TPAssist 2007 v1.8.7 when using Mindjet for Windows (v11.0.272).

There is an issue with the installer when you choose to enable Excel and MS Project, but not Outlook.  After installing TPAssist and launching Mindjet for Windows, you will get an error suggesting the Add-in can't be loaded.

The workaround:
The fix (for now), is to uninstall TPAssist 2007 and then re-install TPAssist 2007, and enable the "Outlook" option.

After re-installing, you’ll need to re-enable the adding in MindManager.  To do this, in MindManager, go to the File Menu, choose Options, then select the Add-Ins tab, and then check “TPAssist Add-in for Mindjet for Windows”, click Ok.

Note: If you don’t have Outlook installed, you will receive an error if you try to use any of the Outlook integration.  But at least you will have access to the other pieces of functionality.

We are working a few minor features updates and we will fix the installer with the next update.

Known Issues - Mindjet for Windows (v11.0.272)

TPAssist has been updated for the latest Mindjet update (v11.0.272). There is one new issue we are working on and we still have the issues identified in v10.1.459 (See here).

There are known issues with TPAssist 2007 v1.8.7 and Mindjet for Windows (v11.0.272).

  • Accessing the "TPAssist Options" prevents MindManager.EXE from closing. If you access the "TPAssist Options" dialog, close it and then exit Mindjet for Windows, the EXE stays running in the background. Opening Mindjet again, and then closing Mindjet causes an exception error. The only work-around at present is as follows: after closing Mindjet, use Task Manager to terminate MindManager.EXE.

Note: This issue has also been seen with TPAssist Capture v1.3.6.

Known Issues - MindManager 2012 (10.1.459)

There are known issues with TPAssist 2007 v1.8.6 (and earlier) and MindManager 2012 Service Pack 1 (version 10.1.459).

  • When "Effort" is enabled (MindManager Options, Task Info, "Show Effort Field"), the TPAssist Journal command isn't able to correctly modify "Duration". This issue is being worked on. For now, it is advised not to enable "Effort" when you have MindManager 2012 Service Pack 1 (version 10.1.459) and TPAssist 2007 v1.8.6 or earlier.
  • Quicklink Rebuild and other hyperlink handling aspects of TPAssist 2007 fail when you use earlier versions of MindManager to open maps created or modified with MindManager 2012 Service Pack 1 (version 10.1.459). When TPAssist fails, you will get an ugly error message about "EffortReadOnly" and "missing in schema". This issue is being worked on. For now, it is advised not to run different versions of MindManager, i.e. choose your timing and upgrade all your machines to MindManager 2012 Service Pack 1 (version 10.1.459).
